A VINEYARD IN ESSEX
Our vineyard was planted in 2017 on the clay soils of the Crouch Valley. The combination of soil, climate and coastal influence helps us grow grapes with freshness, balance and character.
FROM VINE TO BOTTLE
Our grapes are hand harvested and our wines are made in small quantities, with an increasing part of the winemaking now taking place here at the estate.
We are continually evolving the vineyard and winery, working towards a more regenerative approach to the land while staying focused on one thing — making distinctive English wine.
At The Althorne Estate we produce high quality, award winning wines from our single estate vineyard in the Crouch Valley, Essex.
Passionate about creating simply the best wines, we choose only the finest grapes to be a part of the Althorne Estate.
Our 6 acre vineyard contains the following varieties; Chardonnay, Pinor Noir, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris.
All grapes are handpicked at exactly the right time to produce the finest quality.
